
Frédéric Ducoulombier, CAIA, heads the Climate Regulation and Policies programme at EDHEC Climate Institute, which examines how normative forces influence the integration of climate risks and impacts, as well as transition and adaptation efforts. He also serves on the Strategic Orientation Committee of Scientific Climate Ratings. Previously, as founding director of EDHEC Business School’s climate finance research institute, he helped steer the alignment of climate-economics modelling with asset pricing and the development of probabilistic climate scenarios. Prior to that, he was the ESG Director of index provider Scientific Beta (SGX Group). He established the firm’s sustainability integration approach and led product design and negotiations resulting in EUR10 billion in institutional assets tracking ESG indices. He also designed specialty indices for ETFs and authored the blueprints for the firm’s award-winning climate impact consistent indices. Earlier, he had introduced the firm’s first dynamic volatility strategy and a reconciliation of competing approaches to factor portfolio construction. Over his 25 years in financial regulation and innovation, he has also authored academic and industry publications, contributed to international regulatory consultations, and served on expert committees for financial supervisors and net-zero coalitions.
