Giorgio Baldassarri, Global Head of the Analytic Development Group (ADG), S&P

S&P Giorgio is Global Head of the Analytic Development Group (ADG). His team is responsible for the analytical development, maintenance and on-going validation of all credit risk models and products across Risk Services, which are used by financial institutions and corporate companies to measure and manage credit risk, including within regulatory frameworks such as Basel II/III or Solvency II. Prior to joining S&P Global Market Intelligence in 2011, Giorgio worked at Barclays for three years as Associate Director in Group Risk (Operational Risk and Credit Risk). Giorgio holds a PhD in Quantum Mechanics and Semiconductor Physics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

 

Jean-Michel Beacco, CEO, Louis Bachelier Institute

Jean Michel Beacco ILB InstituteEngineer from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and graduate from Stanford GSB, Jean-Michel Beacco started his professional career in 1989 as the Asset and Liability Manager of French social housing at Caisse Autonome de Refinancement (the Caisse des Dépôts group). In 1992, he became Global Head of Credit and Derivatives at Société Générale (1992-2000), Crédit Agricole CIB (2000-2005) and Natixis (2005-2009). Since 2009, Jean-Michel Beacco has held the position as CEO of the Institut Louis Bachelier and Associate Professor in Finance at University Paris-Dauphine.

 

 

Laurent Chatelin, Managing Director, Marguerite Fund

Marguerite Fund

Laurent has over 20 years of experience in private equity, investment and financing and is a Managing Director with Marguerite, the manager of the Marguerite Funds. He has led several investments for the Fund in the Telecom/Digital and Renewable Energy spaces. Laurent has made several investments for Maguerite in Renewable Energy assets and FTTH broadband network operators, Backbone/data centers and in a subsea cable operator. Laurent also seats on different boards of Marguerite portfolio companies, mainly in the Renewable and Telecom sectors. Laurent is the former Head of Infrastructure Investment with Oasis Capital Bank, where he launched the first GCC Cleantech and Renewable Energy fund. He is also a former Director with Macquarie Capital and previously with ABN-Amro. Laurent has studied in Paris engineering, science and finance, and is an alumnus of ENS-Ulm and ENPC.

 

 

Erik Christiansen, ESG and Low Carbon Solutions Specialist, Scientific Beta

Scientific Beta

Erik Christiansen is an ESG and Low Carbon Solutions Specialist with Scientific Beta. He was previously Head of Investment Strategy with the Etablissement de Retraite Additionnelle de la Fonction Publique (ERAFP), the mandatory pension scheme for French civil servants, where he was responsible for implementing the equity and ESG strategies. He has also previously worked as a Methodology Coordinator and Analyst at Vigeo Eiris, the ESG rating agency. Erik holds a Master's degree in Management from the ESCP Business School and is a CFA charterholder.

 

 

 

 

 

Jaap van Dam, Principal Director of Investment Strategy, PGGM

Jaap van DamJaap van Dam is the Principal Director of Investment Strategy at PGGM in The Netherlands. He is chairman of the European chapter of The 300 Club and of the Dutch Association of Investors for Sustainable Development (VBDO). He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Jaap’s career in investment management spans more than three decades. He has held many roles within the industry, ranging from fundamental and quantitative analysis to external manager selection and portfolio construction. He joined PGGM in 2005 as Head of Internal Equity Management. In 2006, he was appointed Chief Strategist. Notably, within PGGM he was responsible for developing PFZW’s new investment framework and Investment Strategy 2020. Jaap is a member of ICPM’s research committee and the International Advisory Board of EDHEC.

 

 

Morgan Després, Deputy Head of the Financial Stability Department, Banque de France

Morgan DesprésMorgan Després is Deputy Head of the Financial Stability Department at Banque de France and also serves as the Head of the NGFS Secretariat. He joined the Banque de France in 2005 and served in the Payment and Settlement Systems Department and as deputy Head of the Macroprudential Division. Other professional experiences include a secondment as Deputy Head of the Financial Stability Unit within the French Treasury Department and some technical assistance missions for the IMF. Morgan holds a MBA from ESSEC business school, graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and studied at the Harvard Extension School.

 

 

 

 

Charlotte Gardes, Deputy Head of Unit in charge of Sustainable Finance and ESG reporting, French Treasury

Charlotte Gardes, French TreasuryCharlotte Gardes is Deputy Head of Unit in charge of Sustainable Finance and ESG reporting at the French Treasury; where she works notably on EU and national sustainable finance regulations and performs economic studies on these issues. She is the rapporteur of the report handed out by Patrick de Cambourg to the French Minister of Economy and Finance in June 2019 on the quality and relevance of non-financial information. Charlotte started her career at the French Securities Markets Authority, in the Department of European and International Regulatory Policy. She is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris in International Economics and of the Sorbonne Law School in Business Law, and currently a Ph.D. candidate in economics, focusing on climate risk and financial regulation.

 

 

 

 

Gianfranco Gianfrate, Professor of Finance, EDHEC Business School

Gianfranco Gianfrate is Professor of Finance at EDHEC Business School. He writes and researches on topics related to innovation financing, corporate valuation, and climate change finance. Prior to joining EDHEC Business School, he held teaching and research positions at Erasmus University (Netherlands), Harvard University (USA), and Bocconi University (Italy). Gianfranco also has extensive experience in the financial industry, having worked, among others, for Deloitte Corporate Finance (Italy), Hermes Investment Management (UK), and iStarter (UK). Gianfranco holds a BA and a PhD in Business Administration from Bocconi University and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University.

 

 

Harisson Hong, John R. Eckel Jr. Professor of Financial Economics, Columbia University

Harisson HongHarrison Hong is Professor of Economics at Columbia University, where he teaches courses in the undergraduate and PhD programs. He is currently the John R. Eckel Jr. Professor of Financial Economics. Before coming to Columbia in 2016, he was on the economics faculty of Princeton University, most recently as the John Scully ’66 Professor of Economics and Finance. Prior to that, he was an assistant professor of finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business from 1997-2001. He received his B.A. in economics and statistics with highest distinction from the University of California at Berkeley in 1992 and his Ph.D. in economics from M.I.T. in 1997. He has contributed to a number of topics in financial economics, especially on behavioral finance and stock market efficiency. Topics include disagreement in asset markets, speculative bubbles and crashes, frictions and arbitrage, strategic bias among professional forecasters, scale and performance in asset management, social networks and investments, compensation and bank risk-taking, and corporate sustainability and climate change risks. In 2009, he was awarded the Fischer Black Prize, given once every two years to the best American finance economist under the age of 40. He has received several honorary doctorates. He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and an editor of the International Journal of Central Banking. He has been an associate editor at the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Intermediation and a Director of the American Finance Association.

Lionel Martellini, Director, EDHEC-Risk Institute

Lionel Martellini is a Professor of Finance at EDHEC Business School and the Director of EDHEC-Risk Institute. He is a former member of the faculty at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, and has also taught at U.C. Berkeley and at Princeton University, where he has been a visiting fellow at the Operations Research and Financial Engineering department. Lionel holds Master’s Degrees in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics and Mathematics, as well as a PhD in Finance from the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley. Outside of his activities in finance, he recently completed a PhD in Relativistic Astrophysics and has become a member of the LIGO/Virgo international collabouration for the observation of gravitational waves. Professor Martellini is a member of the editorial board of The Journal of Portfolio Management, The Journal of Alternative Investments, and The Journal of Retirement. He conducts active research in a broad range of topics related to investment solutions for individual and institutional investors, equity and fixed-income portfolio construction, risk management and derivatives valuation. His work has been published in leading academic and practitioner journals and has been featured in major European and global dailies such as The Economist, The Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal. He has co-authored reference textbooks on topics related to Alternative Investment Strategies, Fixed-Income Securities, Goal-Based Investing and is preparing a new textbook on Investment Solutions.

 

 

Riccardo Rebonato, Professor of Finance, EDHEC Business School

Riccardo Rebonato was previously Global Head of Rates and FX Research at PIMCO. He also served as Head of Front Office Risk Management and Head of Clients Analytics, Global Head of Market Risk and Global Head of Quantitative Research at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Prior joining RBS, he was Head of Complex IR Derivatives Trading and Head of Head of Derivatives Research at Barclays Capital. Riccardo Rebonato has served on the Board of ISDA (2002-2011), and has been on the Board of GARP since 2001. He was a visiting lecturer in Mathematical Finance at Oxford University (2001-2015). He is the author of several books, in particular having published extensively on interest rate modelling, risk management, and most notably books on SABR/LIBOR Market Model pricing of interest rate derivatives, as well as on the use of Bayesian nets for stress testing and asset allocation. He has published articles in international academic journals such as Quantitative Finance, the Journal of Derivatives and the Journal of Investment Management, and has made frequent presentations at academic and practitioner conferences

 

 

 

Olivier Rousseau,  Executive Director Fonds de réserve pour les retraites (FRR)

Olivier Rousseau is executive director at Fonds de réserve pour les retraites (FRR), France’s pension reserve fund, where he also chairs the asset manager selection committee. Before joining FRR in 2011, he was attached to the French Embassy in Sweden as an economic advisor, a position he took up after two years on the board of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. Olivier Rousseau began his career at the French Treasury, eventually joining BNP Paribas where he spent 11 years working in international banking and finance in Paris, Tokyo, London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney offices. He graduated from the French National School of Administration (ENA) in 1986. He also holds a degree in political sciences and master degrees in law and economics from the University of Aix-en-Provence.

 

 

Frédéric Samama, Head of Responsible Investing, Amundi

AmundiFrédéric Samama, Co-Head Institutional Clients Coverage, joined Amundi in 2009. He is the founder of the SWF Research Initiative. Formerly, he oversaw Corporate Equity Derivatives within Credit Agricole Corporate Investment Banking in New York and Paris. During his tenure, he developed and implemented the first international leveraged employee share purchase program, a technology now widely used among French companies. He has advised the French Government in different areas (employee investing mechanisms, market regulation, climate finance, etc.) and has a long track record of innovation at the crossroads of finance and government policy. Over the past few years, his action has been focused on climate change with a mix of financial innovation, research and policy making recommendations. He is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program and holds a diploma from Neomia Business School.

 

 

 

Andreas Stang, Head of ESG, PFA Pension

 Andreas Stang is the Head of ESG at PFA Pension. PFA manages pension assets of more than 1.2 million clients with a total AUM of € 80 billion+, spread across fundamental and quant equity strategies, fixed income, real estate, infrastructure, PE, & hedge funds. 

Andreas has a master’s degree in applied economics and finance from Copenhagen Business School and he gives lectures at the Business School about sustainable and impact investments. He is a member of the board of the Danish Sif, DANSIF, and he has worked with ESG integration and active ownership in most asset classes ranging from listed equity to infrastructure.
