What is Biodiversity Risk❓ Do financial professionals worry about biodiversity risk❓ Is biodiversity risk priced in financial markets❓

On October 15, 2024, EDHEC Business School hosted Stefano Giglio, Professor of Finance Yale School of Management, who delivered a talk on the financial implications of biodiversity risk and its impact on markets and economic activities.

Professor Giglio discussed the growing financial materiality of biodiversity loss and its effects on asset values and firm-level exposures.

Drawing from his groundbreaking research, he introduced innovative measures to track biodiversity risk, demonstrating how this pressing issue influences #equity pricing and decision-making in today's financial landscape.

The session was moderated by Sophie Clot, Professor and Scientific Director of MSc in Climate Change and Sustainable Finance at EDHEC Business School and Catherine El-Khoury, student in the MSC in Climate Change and Sustainable Finance at EDHEC Business School.
